Verified ReviewerAvoid Magpie - Untrustworthy and Dishonest Company
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Magpie that I feel obligated to share to warn others. Initially, I was excited to sell my phone to them, as they offered a top price of £312, which I thought was a great deal.
Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned into frustration and disbelief.
After sending my phone, it was lost for a couple of days, leaving me in limbo with no updates. Magpie does not have a contact number for customers to speak to a real person, which only added to the frustration. Their online chat service was useless, providing no helpful answers to my questions.
When my phone was finally found and assessed, Magpie shockingly reduced their offer from £312 to a measly £86. They claimed my phone was not in the condition I described, which is an outright lie.
My phone was in perfect conditionwell looked after, with no scratches, dents, or damage whatsoever. It was clear to me that they were trying to lowball me in hopes I would just accept the dramatically reduced offer.
Magpies tactics are nothing short of unscrupulous, and it seems like a deliberate attempt to deceive customers by luring them in with high offers and then downgrading them drastically.
This company cannot be trusted with high-value items. I strongly advise others to avoid sending their valuable devices to Magpie and to seek out alternative companies that operate with transparency and integrity.
Avoid Magpie at all costs if you value your time, your money, and your peace of mind.
- Flashy website
- You dont get paid the money they promised use lies and excuses

Verified ReviewerResolved: Appalling customer service and total lack of interest when issues arise, Appalling customer service, total lack of integrity and complete incompetence
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I had to take them to the small claims court. They settled 1 hour before the deadline without submitting a defence
I am sure if everything goes to plan then the company is as good as any other. Unfortunately, when it doesn;t the customer service mentality appears to be "we are right, you are wrong so go away" Despite losing track of my parcel on a couple of occasions and, according to the tracking system still believing it is in the system.
Music Magpie are blaming me for damage to a phone that was damaged after they had left my possession. The downgrade was from £80 to £7.50. I have exhausted internal complaints processes and issued a notice of intention to go to small claims, still awaiting a response (it's not the money it's the principle).
From my experience they are a total waste of space and In future I would take my goods to the nearest cex, cash converters or whatever rather than trust this lot, Never again and having built a timeline of events I'm confident I will get my money eventually. It really shouldn't be this difficult.
- Easy on paper
- Appalling company when things go wrong bunch of del boys
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Go to a high street dealer where there can't be this kind of *** going on.

Verified ReviewerSeller Beware!!
They do not respect or value their loyal customers! I've used Music Magpie for many years for a number of small electronic items and had no problems, but I had always used Royal Mail to send things.
This occasion was different because I was selling my desktop and because it was quite large with the packaging, I used Parcel Force as recommended by Music Magpie. They did mention items were insured. The item arrived damaged and hence worthless. Music Magpie will not offer any compensation and accused me of sending a damaged item to them!
They have not sent me an email with the images as their reply below infers and continue to persist in accusing me of committing fraud by deliberately sending them a damaged item while claiming it was in good condition. This is very insulting after selling them a number of items over the years with no problems regarding the condition of the items. My computer has now been returned with a crack in the upper corner of the screen only; the casing and the back of the computer are undamaged. The computer is also still operational!
I am a bit puzzled about how it happened as the computer was slotted into styrofoam blocks that had come with my TV, so the corners were very well protected! But as Music Magpie will not investigate, and they keep reiterating that the packaging was not damaged, I will have to draw my own conclusions!
At least I know who is telling the truth. I will never use them again!
Preferred solution: Compensation for the loss in value of the computer

Verified ReviewerReturn a device
I bought this phone not knowing I could own it, so I would like to return it. Initially, I sent the phone to Africa and the person was not able to receive it for more than a year. A friend just brought the phone back to me now.

Verified ReviewerVery pissed
I've had good experiences before when buying from MM so when I had a phone described as pristine with a couple of tooling marks on the chassis I gave them another chance and ordered another phone at a higher price. Well that was my second mistake!
This handset has highly visible damage to the charging / USB port that can only be explained by someone with very poor aim and a bull in a china shop - very heavy handed attempts at inserting a connector. I wish I could attach a photo.
So to sum up, if you're someone not concerned with cosmetic damage then save some money and choose 'good' or 'really good' but don't expect 'pristine' to look as new or have very fine marks only visible from 20cm or less as you will be greatly disappointed.
- Good selection at good prices
- Poor grading process

Was promised a replacement on a faulty item that I was sent by them. The replacement item was also faulty and when I asked about this in the email they ignored my question completely and confirmed that the replacement had been delivered rather than trying to tell me what they were going to do to make up for the fact they sent a broken copy again

Verified ReviewerResolved: Unable to contact via email…undeliverable…chat gave up and promised reply
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Strangely, after I posted with you, I tried again and they had “ found” my item and delivered it three days later. But I won’t use them again!
I ordered a CD which did not arrive. They blame a wrong postcode.
But the address is correct and yet the CD did not arrive. They cannot be contacted by email. So, if my CD did not arrive, it went back to them!
So, where is it? And my refund request can't reach them.
